Buzzfeed is doing a survey about how attitudes about student loans have changed during the pandemic. Please fill it out, and mention the petition Change.Org/CancelStudentLoans. This will help.
Also: We are gearing up to make strong statements to the Governors and legislatures of the nineteen states mentioned in this article. If you live in one of these states, please jump onto your state chapter group, and help get it going towards this end. Most of these states lean conservative, so getting the Governors and state legislatures on our side is critically important towards getting all federal loans cancelled, and bankruptcy protections returned to the rest. Some of the chapters need strong leadership. If you are interested in leading your state, let us know!
I hope you are pleased that our petition started the national conversation about cancelling student loans by executive order. I really hope, though, that you can see that if we sit back and let the politicos and the mainstream media take it from here, we will get played, and you won't like the results. WE, INDIVIDUALLY, NEED TO FIGHT HARDER NOW THAN BEFORE.
Please...make it your mission over the next week to tell the media to report on this article and our petition, and also to get at least 3 people to sign. We have a good muscle to flex now, but we should truly have ten times the signatures that we currently have. Our opposition is not resting, and the more people we have on or side, the easier this battle gets...for all of us.
We are on the right side of history, we are the pioneers...so we need to fight a bit harder. Don't forget that!
