Hey All-

I'm glad to report that two very important things happened for us yesterday:

1.  The Education Secretary nominee pledged yesterday that he would use all available tools to cancel student loans.  This means administratively.  This started with our petition.  This is huge for us. We are thrilled. 

2.  New legislation came out yesterday that will return bankruptcy protections to ALL student loans, including those that cannot be cancelled by executive order.  We have not yet seen the text of this bill, so won't say more than this, but again, this is very exciting for us all.

Cancellation and returning bankruptcy are the two goals of this group, it is because of our efforts that these things are happening, but there is much more to do.  Everything gets easier with more people on the petition.  To that end, will you please give it a boost, retweet this, and also follow our brand new twitter account?  These will all help tremendously when everyone does them.

Please remember:  There are 38 million people in the country who are screwed on their federal loans, and 44 million screwed generally.  If they saw our petition, they would be strongly inclined to sign.  We need them. 

This is more than a petition, it is an historic movement and you are a pioneer.  It requires more than your signature to happen.  I hope you are starting to understand that.
