I recently spoke with a key staffer in the Senate. Senator Durbin, who we met with in Chicago (and who sponsored bankruptcy legislation on our behalf) is now going to be Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. This is very, very good for us. We expect new bankruptcy legislation to come out pretty early in the new term. Whatever you think about bankruptcy, getting it returned to us is a first, critical step on the path to full cancellation.
Chuck Grassley (Iowa Senator) will be the ranking member on the Judiciary committee. Where in the past, he would oppose our legislation. we believe that we can get him to reverse his position this time around. We saw it in the House, we can make this happen in the Senate.
Growing the petition becomes all the more vital, folks. Having thousands of people in every state who we can deploy as needed, depending on which Senators need to be pushed, etc, is absolutely vital. I hope you will get it in front of as many people as possible, and by any means necessary. We're becoming an unstoppable force...please accelerate this!
