Hey Everyone-
Very glad to report that the democrats have picked-up/adopted/co-opted our call for the President to cancel student loans by executive order!
Importantly, however: Their call has strings attached. They are calling on the President to cancel "Up to $50,000" in loans. This, unfortunately, could mean almost anything. This attached string both reveals their intention to perpetuate the lending system, and potentially gives the Department of Education the same sorts of administrative powers that it currently uses to disqualify over 99% of borrowers out of existing loan cancellation plans. Also, their call says nothing about returning bankruptcy protections to the 15% of loans that cannot be cancelled.
Pretty interesting that this happened at exactly the same moment when our call for loan cancellation by executive is catching fire in the media. If I didn't know any better, I would say they are trying to steal our thunder! How flattering :-)
This is good for us in any event. It validates the integrity of our group, and the legitimacy of the concept of cancelling loans by executive order in the first place (something that there could have been some debate about), and puts our proposal front and center in this presidential election!
The republicans are now in a position where unless they are happy to give up the 44 million voters with federal student loans- and absolutely lose elections up and down the ballot- they will have to come back with something real.
NOW IS THE TIME TO BE PUSHING BOTH BIDEN AND TRUMP TO GO BIG AND EITHER PLEDGE TO CANCEL ALL FEDERAL LOANS (DEMOCRATS), OR ACTUALLY DO IT (REPUBLICANS)!!!

We have an uphill battle between now and the election. Supreme Court controversy is sure to be clogging the media from here on out!
