Our email blitz to local news stations of Monday worked well.  We've done 4 interviews to this point (Baltimore, Columbus, Mississippi, Iowa).  This is great.  We've added 10,000 signatures to the petition as a result. 

If you stepped up on this...THANK YOU.  If not...WILL YOU PLEASE?  We have a HUGE MUSCLE to flex...so LET'S FLEX IT!

I wanted to call your attention to this petition:

It has close to 600,000 signatures currently.  We expect to get to a million soon. What is interesting about this petition:  Unlike all of the student loan cancellation plans we are hearing about (which require raising taxes), the President has all the authority needed to cancel 85% of all student loans with the stroke of a pen. Not one dime would need to be appropriated to do this, and not one dime would be added to the national debt.  The taxpayers paid for these loans many years ago (and made most of their money back).  They should not have to pay twice! 

The nation needs stimulus, and even before the coronavirus, 80% of federal student loan borrowers were never going to be able to repay their federal student loans.  It had become a failed lending system, and that is doubly true now. Simply put: The federal student loan system has become viciously predatory, hyper-inflationary, and at this point now constitutes a national threat. There are 55 million people in the country who either have- or are cosigned on- student loans. 44 million of these people are losing sleep over them.  This is nearly enough voters to elect a President outright!

I hope that you will report on this petition. We've been featured in the past on 60 Minutes, in the New York Times, Rolling Stone, Vice News, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, and many other places.  We have people in your area who are more than willing to be interviewed about how student loans have devastated their lives.  We are very happy to accommodate any requests for interviews, supporting documentation, etc. that you might be interested in.
