Hey All-
One critical point I need to make at this time:
Any proposal for CONGRESS to cancel student loans is DOOMED TO FAIL.
Here is why:
1. Congress will entertain legislation that requires raising tax monies to "pay for" loan cancellation. This is COMPLETELY ASININE. Federal student loans were ALREADY PAID FOR.
2. Whatever "loan cancellation" Congress might pass will be watered down to the point of not being useful. What will come out the other end will be lame, PARTIAL CANCELLATION, where there will be an application process, and lots of "strings" attached, like means testing, etc.
3. The Department of Education will be put in charge of actually administering the program, much like it currently administers any number of existing loan cancellation programs already in place.
Recent history has shown that the Department of Education has NO DESIRES OR INTENTIONS OF ACTUALLY CANCELLING ANY STUDENT LOANS! The success rate for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, for example, is LESS THAN ONE PERCENT!
PLEASE...DON'T FALL FOR IT! The ONLY meaningful, viable, feasible way to ACTUALLY cancel these loans is for the PRESIDENT to order the Secretary of Education to simply CANCEL THE LOANS AS OUR PETITION IS CALLING FOR. This requires no Congressional approval. It requires NO APPROPRIATION. It will not add anything to the national debt.

ps. Please also contact a news organization, and tell them to report on this petition. Ours is the ONLY way that these loans will ACTUALLY get cancelled, and it won't require any additional tax money, nor add anything to the national debt. The media needs to know about this, but they won't unless YOU TELL THEM!!!
