Today We are asking everyone to contact some news organization, and tell them they should report on our petition.  Here is a script you can use:

Hi-

There is a petition going around calling on the President to cancel federal student loans by executive order.  This is interesting because unlike all the other loan cancellation proposals around that require raising money and congressional legislation, cancelling the loans by executive order could be done with no legislation or tax money required.  It also would not add anything to the national debt. 

There is no better/cheaper way to both stimulate the economy (massively), and fix what has become a nationally threatening student loan system. 

The petition has nearly 300,000 signatures and is being done by StudentLoanJustice.Org, a citizen group that has been around for 15 years, and has been featured on 60 Minutes, in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, and many other media outlets.  The group is credited with being the motivating force behind several pieces of legislation since 2006.

Please DO YOUR PART.  This is your problem.  Sending this to a couple of news organizations is the least you can do if you want these loans gone.

I hope you all are getting excited. It is good to see the petition getting 2-3000 signatures per day lately, but we need to get it up to a million signatures, so think marathon, not sprint.  Steady, persistence, sustained effort.  Do not let up.
