We wanted to let you know that Edwin's executive clemency petition was denied today by The Office of The Pardon Attorney in tandem with The White House. No reason was given for such denial; other than it was not favorable at this time. Our family is saddened, distraught, and bewildered by such action. Our son is not a terrorist, rapist, child molester, nor a violent individual. He made bad choices more than 18 years ago, by selling marijuana. Our son is now a devoted Christian - and has taken every imaginable rehabilitation program available in The Bureau of Prisons; in addition enrolling in correspondence Christian Bible College and Seminary. Since, Edwin received 40 years, we have exhausted all his appeals; consulted various attorneys; gathered all of your signatures in support, along with the fundraiser; sent various letters to President Barack Obama, Attorney General - Loretta Lynch, White House Counsel - Neil Eggleston, Acting Pardon Attorney - Robert A. Zauzmer, Larry Kupers and Theodore B. Smith of The Office of The Pardon Attorney; sent 1000 letters to senators and state representatives - with no reprieve nor positive resolution. In reality, we seem to be exhausted at this juncture. But, we will re-assess our situation and position. We will keep you updated. You may text message our son Edwin [through corrlinks] at - (719)465-0274 - if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments. We also sincerely apologize for demanding so much from each one of you in supporting us. We will always be indebted unto you for your efforts. We love each one of you - and one million thanks of gratitude for all of those who have followed and supported us each step of the way. Again, thank you for all of your love and support. Sincerely, Maria Roque and Family. May God Bless You.
