Today, Oregon Governor Kate Brown signed into law a ban on “ex-gay therapy,” making Oregon the third state in the nation to ban the practice for minors. The new law comes one month after President Obama announced his support for Leelah’s Law, stating: “The overwhelming scientific evidence demonstrates that conversion therapy, especially when it is practiced on young people, is neither medically nor ethically appropriate and can cause substantial harm.
