The purpose of a registry of sex offenders is manifold. Most importantly it places sexual predators on notice that citizens are aware of who they are what they have done so precautions are always on high around them. Just as importantly it tells such persons that they can still be integrated into communities and gain trust and acceptance if they are willing to seek counseling and get requisite help to deal with their previous experiences and the instincts that drove them and then become involved in spearheading the fight against sexual abuse.
