To the President of the Peoples Republic of China,

I understand, that the Yulin festival is a tradition. Everybody loves traditions, but through time we learn and through learning we realise that changes must be made. I am hoping, that through all this media attention you learn that what you are doing is hurting others. It is something that you must stop. To slaughter 10,000 dogs, for your enjoyment, that is not just. You would never slaughter 10,000 humans would you? So why is another creature that has a beating heart, a brain and feelings too of lesser value? Because it doesn't speak the same language, or because you see yourself as 'more intelligent'. 

And the problem here is, these innocent dogs cannot tell this to you themselves. Imagine the pain the dogs go through, whilst you boil them alive. The horror when families in the morning realise their beloved dog has been taken away, to be eaten by you. The feeling of being, powerless. 

I encourage you to listen to the rest of the world. This festival needs to stop, go down in history for ending this, not continuing it! End the Yulin Festival, give the dogs a voice.
