Hi everyone,

We have some very exciting news to share!  Tomorrow we have an appointment at our local court to sit before a judge and have our case heard.  This means that the sitting Judge will determine, whether the proofs we have provided meet the criteria required to have Lesley’s name included on our daughter’s birth certificate as parent.

If we are successful (and because of COVID restrictions) we must then wait for our appointment from the GRO (General Register Office) to attend our local office of Births, Deaths and Marriages to re-register our daughter’s birth to include both of her parents on the certificate.

We are very excited because this is really one of the final stages for us in this journey.  We will be taking our solicitor with us to help us navigate the court system.  We found an incredibly forward thinking, pleasant and family oriented solicitor from Midland Legal in Portlaoise and we recommend him highly.  His name is Philip Meagher but he goes by Gerry.  He’s gold and you should look him up if you need assistance and live relatively close by.  

We can’t wait until tomorrow and we hope it all goes well.  We will not close our petition until we have a birth certificate in hand.
