Jiko Luveni was elected as the speaker of the Parliament in 2014. Her biased ruling in favor of her Fiji First party is detrimental for the nation. Her rulings are anti Opposition and openly violation of the 2013 Constitution.  When the Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum made fun of the native Fijians and did the monkey dance in the Parliament, the Speaker let him continue.

Ratu Naiqama uttered a slur against the Speaker, Jiko Luveni during SODELPAs constituency meeting outside of the Parliament; he has been suspended for 2 years. There are so many other instances whereby the government members of the Parliament get away with abusing the Opposition and the Speaker turns blind eye.

The latest incident on June 1, 2016 the Minister of Education called the Native Fijians “Dumb” in the Parliament. The speaker as usual looked the other way.

Enough is enough and we the citizens of Fiji demand the President of Fiji, Major General Jioji Konrote to recall the Speaker and appoint an unbiased individual to be the Speaker of the Parliament.

This will be fair to all citizens and in the best interest of our beloved country, Fiji.
