Dear Mr. President
Now that the election is over, you have the unique opportunity to cement your legacy as a Nobel Peace Prize winner and defender of human rights by supporting a United Nations Security Council Resolution rejecting the expansion of West Bank settlements. This is urgent in light of President-elect Donald Trump's support of settlement expansion.

Both John Kerry and you have stated that Israeli settlement policy is illegal and the main obstacle to a just, peaceful solution to the Israel/Palestine conflict. It is time for action, not just words.

Our organization, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, has worked for over one hundred years to challenge policies that perpetuate human rights abuses, injustice, and violence.
If settlements continue to expand, hope for Palestinian self-determination will be extinguished and more violence will be inevitable.
The time for effective action is now! End settlement expansion!
