It's been a very disturbing few weeks since the election November 8th. There's much to say, do, and think in response to what's unfolded. One hope we’re focusing on is that we can channel some of our outrage to convince President Obama to take some bold and righteous actions before he leaves office...including exonerating our mother, Ethel Rosenberg. At the same time, we’re very concerned that a Trump presidency means the danger is only going to escalate for those who dissent.* Our mother’s fate is evidence of what can happen in this kind of climate. But we know there’s a concrete way we can protect our community. Please read the message below from Jenn Meeropol, (Robert’s daughter and Michael’s niece). ----- I lead the Rosenberg Fund for Children, the organization my father started. We help kids in this country who are experiencing similar nightmares to what he and his brother lived through when their parents were taken from them. In this unprecedented moment, when those who protest the turn our country has taken are going to face tremendous peril, can you donate $10 to help progressive activists’ kids survive? https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/rfc Your gift will aid today’s “children of resistance.” They’re from families who are suffering because the parents are standing up to hate and injustice at great personal risk. We use funds contributed by concerned people like you to pay for services that meet these vulnerable kids’ emotional and educational needs. The targeting of progressive activists did not end with my grandparents. And the need to shelter our children is more urgent than ever. I hope you’ll stand with the families of today’s targeted activists. Please make a tax-deductible donation to the Rosenberg Fund for Children. https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/rfc Jennifer Meeropol Executive Director * One of the key people who taught Trump to ruthlessly attack his enemies was his attorney, friend and mentor, Roy Cohn. This is the same Roy Cohn who, as this New York Times article notes, was Senator McCarthy’s right-hand man. He was also the member of the prosecution team in my grandparents’ case who encouraged the perjured testimony that condemned my grandmother, and colluded with the judge to ensure she received death penalty.
