Hey everyone,

It's been a minute since we got this petition up and running. Today marks the two-year anniversary of the Gianforte Family Hall opening and (subsequently) the #WeWillNotSITBy protest.

In the years since it's opened, Greg Gianforte has become Governor of Montana and has been nothing short of a beacon of bigotry. Passing bills banning Trans women from sports to banning sanctuary cities to banning certain abortion procedures, all of the ideals Gianforte stands for do not align with what Stevens claims to uphold.

I never thought that for the 5~ years this situation has gone on for, there would be radio silence from my alma mater on standing up for queer students.

And I don't mean the, frankly, piss-poor statement that we'll "foster civil dialogue on campus among people with varying perspectives". I mean actual, systemic changes that are going to value our most vulnerable populations.

As I commonly say, time is a weapon. And as time goes on, the more people will continue to forget about the history of Gianforte Family Hall.

Don't let impassiveness win today. It's time for Stevens to take a stand.
