Thanks once again for signing our 2019 petition opposing the move to construct a multi-storey office complex on the land of the Parks and Gardens HQ in Accra.

Unfortunately, nearly 5 years on, there is another sinister attempt to occupy the land by private, commercial interests - yesterday, a private estate developer claiming to have been sold the state land, resisted attempts by Parks and Gardens staff to remove their containers placed on the land of the Parks and Gardens HQ over the weekend.

This is one of a number of encroachments on Parks and Gardens lands in other parts of Ghana, including Wa, where a petrol station is being built on account of a purported lease of the land.

Eco-Conscious Citizens will be making a formal request to the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development for an audit of all Parks and Gardens lands and public open spaces.

But in the meantime, we are urgently calling on all environmentalists and concerned citizens, whether you are in or outside Ghana, to help raise awareness of this sinister land-grabbing and profiteering by liking, commenting, following or sharing via these platforms - please do it today, if you can:
