Nearly 500 signatures! Case Studies Required for Media Exposure

Dear Supporters, Thank you very much for your enthusiastic support for the petition to request criminal background checks for all Mormon leaders working with youth and children and adherence to standard child protection guidelines. Just over a year ago, I concluded a legal case in which a UK circuit court made a further order against the Mormon church prohibiting them from taking steps that would put children at risk of further abuse - after they had defied previously granted orders. And just weeks ago concluded a further court case overcoming 5 years of opposition to the provision of therapy and professional care to a child who had suffered abuse. There is definitely a light at the end of every tunnel and I'm sure many of you have seen this in your own lives. I have been in discussions with an international broadcaster based in the UK which has previously run highly objective documentaries regarding the Mormon church (the BBC). They were interested in exploring child protection issues and abuse within the church, but could not do so based only on the case study which I could provide, as it is of paramount importance to not identify particular children or the trauma they have experienced within international coverage of abuse. As my goal is to ensure the protection of children, I am fully supportive of the legal guidelines they follow in reporting on such sensitive matters. Additional case studies would be needed for the broadcaster to have sufficient material to run a news story whilst protecting the identity of the children concerned, speaking in generalities in terms of trends, patterns, cases, not names of children. Whilst this would be a matter for each person or parent to carefully consider - and not a decision to be taken rashly out of emotion - I would like to offer supporters the opportunity to come forwards and offer to contribute to a new stories regarding problems of abuse, inadequate child protection problems, consequences of sexually inappropriate invasive interviews, etc. Again, this is a matter of careful consideration and I would not personally need to know any details of your story, but would like to know who would be interested in contributing, so that I can compile a list of persons to be interviewed and put this forwards to the broadcaster, along with 500+ petitions by way of evidence that there is sufficient material to hand to enable them to run a story in a sensitive manner in which the confidentiality of all children would be maintained. If the BBC for any reason decides not to proceed with the documentary, I would again seek your express, written permission prior to transmitting your contact details to any other broadcaster or news agency potentially interested in doing a story. I appreciate that not all news agencies are equally reputable, objective and trustworthy and that you will want to have confidence in the producer of the documentary as well as in my own integrity prior to deciding to participate in any news coverage. I am open to suggestions of other news agencies and/or provision of contact details of reporters from any supporters with established media contacts. Thank you again for all of your support thus far.
