We support the right to freedom of expression and freedom of religion which includes the right of individuals representing 40 Days for Life to stand in the public right-of-way outside of Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus in order to share their message.

40 Days for Life is a peaceful, respectful form of community outreach on a controversial but important subject. The participants of 40 Days for Life agree to a code of conduct outlined in a formal Statement of Peace. They do not harass or obstruct anyone entering or exiting the hospital complex at any point. Their message is respectful and loving. They do not trespass on hospital property.

In Canada, we pride ourselves on respecting that there are two sides to every issue, and that all individuals have a democratic right to share their beliefs peacefully. So far, like other hospitals in Ontario, Windsor Regional Hospital has respected the 40 Days for Life campaign participants’ right to freedom of expression and freedom of religion. We ask Windsor Regional Hospital to continue to respect this right as usual on the public streets outside of the Metropolitan Campus, without any further impediment.
