Animals including dogs and cats are suffering in Sri Lanka as a result of maltreatment and cruelty by some people. There is currently NO law protecting animals from inhumane and barbaric treatment. In the case of Charlie this poor much loved family dog was killed by someone setting fire to Charlie's cage whilst he slept . The person who did this knew Charlie was there and should be prosecuted, however no animal cruelty law exists in Sri Lanka at this time. Animals should have the same right to live and breath as us and should be protected from people who would take that right away from them. Please help us bring animal cruelty laws to Sri Lanka, so no animal will face the same agonising death as Charlie did at the hands of a cruel human being.
