So much has happened in Austin's case in just one week since The National Press Club started this petition! First we have more than 50,000 people supporting Austin Tice by signing on to Change.org! Please tell all your friends and family that this support is so important right now. If they can join you this will create an amazing movement for Austin. Please consider:

• August 11 was Austin's 40th Birthday. His family put out a statement asking for the Administration to focus on his case and stressing that nine years is a very long time to be held and unjustly detained.
• Also the Publisher of the Washington Post, Fred Ryan, wrote an Op-Ed calling on President Biden to make Austin's case a priority.
• On Wednesday, the Secretary of State issued a statement on Austin calling on Syria's President to help release him. Also on Wednesday the White House Press Secretary took a question about Austin's case and said the Administration is working hard for his release.
• Also on Wednesday, the Tices sat down with Lester Holt for an interview that ran on NBC Nightly News!

This has already been quite a week for Austin and we still have Aug. 14 (today), the anniversary of his abduction. The Club will bring the Freedom Clock down to the sidewalk and invite the public to come by and take a picture of it for social media and remind everyone that Austin is being held and that we want him home. Who knows, maybe the President will issue a statement? That would be a nice start toward bringing Austin home. So let's dig deep. We want to be able to point to strong support for Austin's freedom.
