We, the undersigned, oppose the planned visit by Marine Le Pen – the French Trump – to Lebanon to meet President Aoun and Prime Minister Hariri.
Le Pen is head of the fascist Front National (FN) in France. For many years the FN has strived to make violent racism and islamophobia an element of mainstream French politics. Xenophobic, Islamophobic, and hateful speech against immigrants and Roma communities are key aspects of FN’s discourse and agenda, and are constantly mobilized by Le Pen’s campaign for the upcoming French presidential elections.

Le Pen is also a strong supporter of dictatorships in the Arab region, from Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria to Vladimir Putin’s Russia and Trump’s US imperial forces, and she has repeatedly shown equivalent support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

We, the undersigned, oppose Le Pen's visit to Lebanon which would provide her with a political platform from which to propagate her racist and sectarian agenda and propaganda.
We also refuse the logic of racist coloniality behind Le Pen’s planned visit and we insist that we are not and will not be a conduit for political agendas that promote hatred, racism and sectarianism.

We call on President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Saad El Hariri to cancel this visit on the basis that fascists are not welcome in Lebanon.

This call is also a gesture of solidarity with all those fighting against the rising tide of fascism in Europe and elsewhere in the world.

نحن الموقعين والموقعات أدناه، نعارض زيارة مارين لوبان- ترامب الفرنسية- المقررة الى لبنان للقاء الرئيس ميشال عون ورئيس مجلس الوزراء سعد الحريري.

لوبان هي رئيسة "الجبهة الوطنية" الفاشية التي سعت على مدار سنوات طويلة، أن تجعل من العنصرية العنيفة ورُهاب المسلمين جزءا من الحياة السياسية اليومية في فرنسا.

تشكل كراهية الأجانب، ومجتمعات المهاجرين والغجر والمسلمين جزءًا أصيلاً  من خطاب "الجبهة" وبرنامجها وأساس التعبئة التي تستند عليها حملة لوبان الانتخابية للرئاسة الفرنسية.

لوبان هي أيضاً داعمة قوية للديكتاتوريات في المنطقة العربية، من بشار الأسد في سوريا الى روسيا فلاديمير بوتين وترامب الولايات المتحدة. وهي داعمة شرسة للاحتلال الإسرائيلي لفلسطين.

نحن الموقعون والموقعات أدناه، نعارض بشدة زيارة مارين لوبان إلى لبنان التي تشكل منبراً لسياستها العنصرية والطائفية.

كما نرفض المنطق الكولونيالي العنصري الذي أتى بلوبان إلى لبنان، ونقول صراحة إننا نعارض أن نكون مطيّة لأجندات سياسية تروّج للكراهية والعنصرية والطائفية.

عليه، نطالب الرئيس العماد  ميشال عون ورئيس مجلس الوزراء سعد الحريري بإلغاء هذه الزيارة على قاعدة أن الفاشيين ليسوا موضع ترحيب في لبنان.

هذه الدعوة هي أيضاً موقف تضامني مع كل الذين واللواتي يناضلون ضد الفاشية الصاعدة في أوروبا وفي أماكن أخرى من العالم.

Nous, les sous-signataires, nous opposons à la visite prévue au Liban par Marine Le Pen, la Trump française, pour rencontrer le Président Aoun et le Premier Ministre Hariri.

Le Pen est à la tête du parti fasciste FN (Front National) en France. Depuis de nombreuses années, le FN cherche à faire du racisme et de l’islamophobie violente des éléments normalisés dans la politique française. La rhétorique xénophobe, islamophobe et d’incitation à la haine envers les immigrés et les communautés roumaines est une composante essentielle du discours et du programme du FN ; et est employée en permanence dans la campagne pour les élections présidentielles à venir.

Le Pen apporte par ailleurs son soutien total aux dictatures dans le monde arabe et au-delà ; du régime de Bachar al-Assad en Syrie à celui de Vladimir Poutine en Russie, en passant par les forces impérialistes américaines de Trump. De manière similaire, elle a à plusieurs reprises soutenu l’occupation israélienne de la Palestine.

Nous, les sous-signataires, nous opposons donc à la visite de Marine Le Pen au Liban, qui lui fournirait une plateforme politique à partir de laquelle propager son programme et sa propagande sectaires et racistes.

Nous refusons également la logique de colonialisme raciste qui sous-tend la visite de Marine Le Pen, et nous insistons sur le fait que nous ne sommes ni ne serons un relai de programmes politiques qui promeuvent la haine, le racisme et le sectarianisme.

Nous appelons le Président Michel Aoun et le Premier Ministre Saad Hariri à annuler cette visite, les fascistes n’étant pas les bienvenus au Liban.

Cet appel est aussi un geste de solidarité envers toutes celles et ceux qui se battent contre la montée du fascisme en Europe et dans le reste du monde.
