Important Listing for West Middlesex Golf Club

Following a nomination by the Save West Middlesex Golf Club Community Group, Ealing Council has formally listed the Club as an Asset of Community Value (ACV).

This is a significant and welcome development, recognising our longstanding contribution to the local community.

The designation provides an additional opportunity to help protect the Club’s future by giving eligible community groups the chance to prepare a bid should the land become subject to a qualifying disposal.

While it does not prevent a sale or confer an automatic right to purchase, it may be an additional avenue through which to safeguard the Club’s future.

We are considering how best to make use of these rights and what further opportunities the listing may provide.

More broadly, we are continuing our work to engage the council and other interested parties, to secure the Club’s preservation as a major community and heritage asset.  We are taking advice and are ready to take legal action where needed, although we would prefer to settle the Club’s future through constructive dialogue.
