Important news about Tender for Trumper Park Tennis Centre

Dear Supporter 

1. The property team at Woollahra Council have completed the assessment of the tenders submitted for the operation of Trumper Park tennis centre.
2. The property team conclude that the tender submitted by Stephen and Anne Day is the best overall and recommend their business Wentworth Tennis be granted the new 7 plus 7 year lease. This is great news for Stephen and Anne and for the many people who have previously written to the Council expressing support for them. 
3. This recommendation from Council staff will be considered by the Councillors on the Finance, Community and Services Committee next Monday evening 12 May. I am pretty confident the 8 Councillors on the Committee will accept the property team's assessment and the Committee will recommend that the full Council meeting to be held on 26 May approve granting the new lease to Wentworth Tennis .
4. If you would like to write to the Councillors on the Committee to urge them to accept the recommendation that the new lease be granted to Wentworth Tennis you can do so by sending an email to records@woollahra.nsw.gov.aubefore 10am on next Monday 12 May. The subject line of your email should be : Agenda Item 7.1 Consideration of tender responses for the lease and operation of Trumper Park Tennis Courts and Kiosk - SC 8018

Dear Woollahra Council and Councillors

I am writing to support the recommendation from Council Staff that Council accept the tender for the lease and operation of the Trumper Park Tennis Centre submitted by the incumbent operator  Papa,A Pty Limited trading as Wentworth Tennis. 

I hope that Councillors will vote to accept the recommendation and grant the new lease to Wentworth Tennis. This will be warmly welcomed by the customers of the tennis centre and the local community who appreciate the fantastic way the Day family have operated the tennis centre and want to see them continue there for many more years.

The submission from Council Staff accurately reflects this by stating on page 3 in the section “Tender Evaluation”:

“Wentworth Tennis, the current operator of the Tennis Centre, has submitted the highest-ranked tender overall. They have demonstrated a strong track record of successfully managing the centre and maintaining active engagement with both customers and the broader community.”
