We are in the process of waiting for the developer to submit the final zoning application to the county. Meanwhile, we have been meeting with the County Supervisors and members of the local community to raise awareness of the issue. There are several ways you can help right now: 1. FOR LOCALS—If you live in Pinal County or the immediate area, it is important that you write letters and emails to the County Supervisors. This is especially true if you actually moved to the area specifically to be closer to the Monastery. We will be providing updated sample letters—in the meantime, you can use the text of the sample email (see URL below), and modify as needed. If you own property, go to work, go to school (or have children in school or college), or have started a business in the area! 2. FOR OUT-OF-STATE—If you DON'T live here but you visit the Monastery, your letters and emails also have an impact! Be sure to mention how often you visit and how many people come with you! Also mention any "tourism dollars" you might be spending in the area: airfare, ground transportation, local shopping or restaurants, local hotels, etc. Tourism is very important for Pinal County and Arizona overall.
