Hello supporters of the Loop Bus,

I truly wanted to call this email "victory!" and close out the petition. Yes, it's true according to the Dutchess County Transit website: the proposed changes to the schedule and route for Route G, the Beacon Loop, are not going into effect. The Loop route and schedule are staying as they are now. The reason I'm not calling it victory yet because it's not clear if this stay is temporary or permanent.

That being said, this is great, wonderful news! Thanks to you and your support of this petition, your letters, and your participation in the public meetings, the county heard us. They postponed all their changes and went back to the drawing board.

What this is not is official news. I've had no further word from anyone at the county or the city about how long the postponement is going into effect, and if there are any changes at all happening to the other routes. 

In the meantime, keep riding the loop - tell your friends how great it is - and keep advocating for a transit system we can all be proud of.
