It has been extremely tough to keep up with everything going on lately, however I have been working on writing and sharing an update to keep everyone aware of where we are currently at and what steps we are taking next.

 

(Please first note) It is impossible for me to share all descriptive details of meetings and discussions publicly until further notice given. I really appreciate your understanding.

 

Yesterday (1-2-2024) I met with my local MP to discuss and show all documents regarding the recent situation with Heritage Victoria and to gain another opinion on this matter. Nearly 2 hours later and a lot of talking to the MP and helpful assistant, I feel that we definitely made some progress and clarification on further correct steps to take. From this, letters have been sent out. And I'm assured that there will be more assistance given in 3-4 weeks time once an appropriate reply has been issued.

 

I am also currently being represented by an amazing Lawyer. Who is now engaging in this process with me and helping with every step so far.

Some will have noticed to that our #PreserveThePast Petition has now reached over 3600 signatures and is still rapidly growing! (Which only launched 12 days ago)

For anyone interested. That equates to over 76 pages of signatures and over 47 pages of supportive comments now and many late nights spent copying, printing and storing for future when needed.

The massive support that has been shown so quickly of late, I feel clearly represents the incredible strength we have within our metal detecting community and beyond.

Recently I have been speaking with landowners of properties that I have detected over the years too, asking if possible for me to gain references of my work previously done on their land. Some even reaching out to me via txt or call to offer their help...without me even requesting. Just amazing support once again and I believe speaks volumes in itself. Thank you so much!!

 

I have also been in contact with my historical society with that same intent in mind and with them saying yes to giving me a reference as well. Sharing their opinion on experiences they have had with me and the integrity they feel I hold. Including mentioning about my metal detecting speeches/presentations and sharing with members my finds unearthed over the past 6 years.

 

I know some of the details above are a little vague at the moment...and I am very sorry for that. At the same time though I wanted to try and share the best update I could for all the amazing support shown to me by everyone so far. It certainly is a very tricky situation to be caught up in…I feel like I have just completed the year 11 and 12 in law studies that I missed out on when leaving school end of year 10...just have to keep working hard on this though and try to achieve the best possible outcome for us all..Which I'm sure we can.

 

I would just like to note too. For anyone wanting to send or donate money to me or this cause. I really do appreciate the offer and show of support. (Please dont think i don't) Because let's face it…I personally can't afford any of this! And in the past two weeks watched all my hard work with YouTube drop dramatically in statistics and of course revenue.

The money from creating YouTube videos is and has been a solid part of my income for over two years now…And although it has been seriously affected for now. I don't feel it is fair at all to take money. I understand we all need money to survive…but I've never been about taking from others in life and without sounding rude here…I'm really dont want to start now if i can help it. I will just find another way to pick up the slack, like I always have. I do appreciate the offer all the same though. Thank you so much♥️

 

Next week I have a personal issue to deal with too. An issue that will be putting me out of action from a lot of things for a good week or so…But certainly not this!!
