It's been a while! We now have a change of leadership at WMDC and so we're asking again for their original decision to be scrutinised.
You can now email karljohnson@wakefield.gov.uk to show your support for the Mason's Arms.
Please see below an update from the landlady's family.
Hoping that we can persuade the council to have a rethink, and that commonsense will prevail!
Thank you again to everyone who has supported the petition and our lovely local pub and amazing landlady, her family and staff so far ❤️
'Just want to share this! I have been outside my house at the top of Hardakers Lane chatting with my neighbour we could hear the music from the Boot and Shoe quite clearly! Which we did not mind and said it was 9pm! So it was nice to hear whilst pottering in the garden she asked to hear why did the Masons have a ban from playing outside music! I stated that I did not really know as only one person our Neighbour had complained! Not long after she had moved in!
Therefore we had had a noise abatement license attached to our license! She has now moved on!!
We had only one complainant, but she engaged another who had built a house at the back of the pub and whose husband attended on a regular basis!
However, since the husband died she has decided she will join in the complaints of two people! To stop live music outside at the Masons Arms! The oldest pub in the village grade listed!
Just to say as a family building this business we think it is shocking that two people can complain to the local Council! And this stops us from playing live music outside on a Sunday afternoon! We think it is totally unfair!
With respect to my Daughter trying to do a good job!
Love to all of our loyal customers and thank you for your continued support
