Thank you for signing the petition for the lastKCforest.com, to protect and preserve "some of the last remaining original woodland forest within Kansas City in Platte County" (according to the Mid America Regional Council) from development.
But we have one more favor to ask!
Because of our community effort and feedback from others, the Park Hill School District board members will be holding a special vote on May 10 to decide whether to proceed with the school's master plan to build 3 schools, sports fields, roads and parking lots in the 272-acre old and healthy forest.
If you are a Platte County or Kansas City Missouri resident, especially one who lives in the Park Hill School District, we're asking you to contact the school board before May 10 and urge them NOT to approve this current master plan, and instead consider a revised plan that protects the forest.
We've created a sample letter you're welcome to use (or modify), or feel free to reach out to them with your own personal message about why preserving this forest for future generations is important.

P.S. One last thing: They say nice guys finish last, but we disagree. In all our communications with the Park Hill School District, elected officials and other decision-makers, we strive to be respectful, honest and speak from the heart. If you're writing on behalf of this initiative, we encourage you to do the same!
