This cause means a lot to me and many others in our community—everything from that time era was done with so much passion and imagination that uplifted the people of Chicago for over a century. Particularly, Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry’s south portico stairs are a priceless asset.

The proposed alterations to the staircase pose a significant threat to its distinctive historical character, which many of us deeply cherish.

While acknowledging the museum’s commitment to change and growth, the planned modifications will undoubtably disturb the area’s unique energy.
More importantly, it tells us the tale of devotion and dreams shared by the generations that came before us, something that should not be forsaken.

We urge that the proposed alterations be reconsidered. Instead, let's revive the portico to better honor its grand original design whilst integrating modern needs.
