The City of Aventura has announced the closure of Founders park tomorrow, September 17th. They call it major renovations, and never mention artificial turf. No transparency not accountability.

Go to the park this week need, enjoy the real grass field one more time. The City of Aventura has decided to ignore our pleas to bring this item back to a discussion on the upcoming Commission workshop, the 21th, and proceed with this project criticized by many.

The removal of the real grass from this favorite family park is a slap in the face to the Aventura families and their children. The city of Aventura has already converted the field at Waterways to artificial turf, leave this park alone! We don’t need nor want another field of plastic.  Leave the Aventura parents free to opt out the artificial turf madness.
