The city of Aventura has approved a project to remove the real grass from the big field of Founders Park North and replace it with artificial turf.  We need your help in protecting and preserving the real grass where our children play and practice sports daily.   The scientific literature is clear: artificial turf is filled with toxic for-ever chemicals, which takes thousands of years to break down, that are hazardous to human health and to the environment. These chemicals have been linked to a variety of health issues, including cancer, respiratory problems and skin allergies. Furthermore, on top of being at a greater risk of experiencing such conditions, athletes all over the country have suffered a rising number of injuries playing on synthetic grass. Lastly, the material reaches dangerously high temperatures in the sun, imagine in the FL heat. 
 
Is this what you want for your children at your local park?  If the answer is NO, come to the July 11th Commission Meeting at 6PM and beforehand, at 5 PM, peacefully protest with your fellow Aventura residents who oppose this project. Say NO to toxic synthetic grass at Founders Park, show up on Tuesday July 11th at the Aventura Government Center (19200 W Country Club Drive) and tell the City of Aventura to KEEP IT REAL!
