Dear YMCA and Arlington County Planning Commission Members,
To date, more than 1,260 individuals have signed a petition regarding the YMCA Tennis & Pickleball Center and the site plan for 3400 13th Street N (SPLN22-00005). Sixty-seven percent of petition supporters reside in Arlington ZIP codes 22207, 22201, and 22204, with additional support from community members across the broader DMV region who rely on this facility for affordable recreation, health, and community connection.
The petition is in response to the recent exploratory activities at the YMCA Tennis & Pickleball Center and the announcement that proposed renovations will not include indoor tennis courts (June 2023 SPRC meeting recording). The petition can be viewed at the following link: https://c.org/NZtJHcwjPf I have also included the full text of the petition below for ease of reference.
We appreciate the opportunity to engage further in this process and respectfully request that community access to indoor tennis be meaningfully considered. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
Ankita Singh
