Painter's Folly remains closed to the public as Chadds Ford Township continues to evaluate its long-term future. The Township has stated that it is pursuing a dual-track approach: seeking a qualified preservation partner while keeping a public auction as a viable option if no partner is secured.

Liaison Position
In January 2025, the Township created a Painter’s Folly Liaison role to engage potential preservation partners. After the July 2025 public meetings, communication with the appointed liaison ceased, and the position was not renewed for 2026.

Easements & Preservation Measures
In February 2026, the Township voted to pursue conservation and façade easements with the North American Land Trust to protect the land and exterior portions of the building visible from Route 1. The Township is exploring grant funding to offset the costs.
