I had the privilege of submitting this petition, with all of its signatures and thoughtful comments, to the city clerk's office today. It will be passed along to the mayor and city council. They will have it in time for the October 7th city council meeting. Please come make your voice heard during public comment and roll with this momentum! EVEN IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN STERLING HEIGHTS, YOUR VOICE MATTERS AND THIS TREE IS YOURS TOO! 

WE are the citizens and our city leadership works for us.

As I was reviewing the comments today before printing them off, I was reminded how we as a whole respect our heritage. We treasure things that are irreplaceable just like this wonderful oak tree. The battle's not over yet, long live the Sterling Oak!
