Community leadership makes such important and big decisions! It's the job of the leaders to listen to the voters ... That's the deal with our government system. In my opinion, this council has NOT listened to the voters regarding this subject of our Sterling Chinkapin Oak
I've emailed, conferenced with, and attended city council meetings about saving our precious green space and ancient tree.
Most of them are still in favor of destroying our 264-year-old oak tree and neighboring wetlands and other keystone trees to construct another apartment building.
Feel free to email the Sterling Heights City Council and Mayor Mike Taylor to discuss why they are in favor of this and let them know your preference! (I linked their contact info in previous petition updates)
Primary voting day is Aug 5 and I can't wait to vote for the council members who value our green space!
I'm precinct 37... Maybe I'll see you there!
