📣 MANDARIN RESIDENTS URGENT — ANOTHER IMPORTANT WAY TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD

To everyone who has signed and supported our petition to protect Mandarin Road: thank you. Now there is another opportunity for residents to have a voice in decisions affecting the future of Mandarin.

The City is accepting applications for the MAPP+ Community Steering Committee, but residents have been given a very short period of time to apply. The deadline is August 10.  Drop off at Mandarin library or email application to ldiettrich@halff.com

Why such a short application window? Have prospective committee members already been identified or handpicked? We don’t know. But that’s exactly why I believe residents who care about preserving Mandarin should submit applications now.

The MAPP+ process is intended to address issues involving preservation, development, neighborhood priorities, beautification, community character and the future of Mandarin.

We have already seen how important it is for ordinary residents to become involved before decisions are made for us.

Don’t let a small group decide what Mandarin should look like for everyone else.

If you care about our tree canopy, historic character, wildlife and natural areas, responsible development, infrastructure, traffic, or protecting the qualities that make Mandarin special, please consider applying.
