Dear Supporters,

We are making significant progress in our fight to Save Connelly Mill Park and stop the “Safari at the Quarry” off-road events! Here's the latest:

  1. Mayor Randy Taylor Takes Initial Action: Salisbury's mayor has officially notified the event promoter, Live Wire Media, and County Executive, Julie Giordano, that the planned off-road events violate the zoning code and must, therefore, be canceled. We are encouraging the mayor to follow through by seeking judicial intervention to enforce this cancellation demand.
  2. County Council Supports Our Cause: The Wicomico County Council sent official notification to County Executive Julie Giordano requesting termination of the lease with Live Wire Media and cancellation of the planned off-road events. This notification cited breaches of contract, failure to notify the public as required by State law, and violations of Salisbury's zoning code.
  3. Wicomico Environmental Trust Joins the Fight: This prominent conservation group is working to encourage local government to move forward with the development of Connelly Mill Park and is actively promoting our petition.
  4. NRCAC Calls for a Responsible Park: The Natural Resource Conservation Advisory Committee has reiterated its previous recommendation that, “...this sensitive land should become an ecologically-minded, low-impact park.”
