Union Government of India had given permission to private entities to extract/drill hydro carbons at various places in Tamil Nadu a state of India. All the places sanctioned for approvals are agricultural areas where agriculture is the main source of lively hood and done from the times of immemorial. Extraction/drilling for hydro carbons negatively affect the environment of the area, deplete the water table and makes the surrounding areas toxic and non habitable. These projects will result in destruction of farming in the whole of delta region and Tamil Nadu resulting in famine, unemployment and environmental hazards to 7 crore/70 million people. These projects would result in worst environmental disaster in the history of India. Please save our people.
