Nova Scotians will elect their government at the end of May. The McNeil government has not lived up to negotiated commitments to markedly reduce levels of clear cutting. Instead the McNeil government pulled back from the central commitments of the Natural Resources Strategy and has handed the management of an unprecedented area of Crown land to a consortium of sawmills, who answer to their shareholders and not to the needs of Nova Scotians. The Ecology Action Centre has formulated an excellent list of provincial election priorities that put environmental concerns front and centre. Please reflect on these questions and share with your neighbours.
