In its harvest postings near to major highways during closures of secondary roads, the Department of Natural Resources is coming down on heavily used recreation areas classified as having multiple values. Even in the scaled back version, approximately 400 football fields are to be clearcut in an area heavily used for recreation, between three nature reserves and within minutes of a major residential area (Westwood Hills). Please add your voices to those clamouring for a moratorium to this top down management of our crown lands simply as a cheap source of fibre/forestry products.
