SAME LOVE BERMUDA

Tony Brannon - When one considers the evolution of Human Rights and Equality it would be SO WRONG if Bermuda were to reverse Marriage Equality. A right that was granted in Bermuda on May 5th 2017 after a court challenge in which Supreme Court Justice Charles-Etta Simmons ruled that it was "discriminatory" for a gay couple to be denied a marriage license. From the denial of the Brits for Princess Margaret to marry a divorcee in 1953 to Prince Harry marrying a divorced mixed race American Megan Markle on May 19th, 2018 - we have come along way. Bermuda must not be left in the Dark Ages. They also said that it was inadmissible and discriminatory for a separate legal provision to be established just for same-sex marriages. The judges demanded that governments "guarantee access to all existing forms of domestic legal systems, including the right to marriage, in order to ensure the protection of all the rights of families formed by same-sex couples without discrimination".
