Farmers for Climate Action
Feb 18, 2019

A fortnight ago, I emailed you about getting an open letter in the newspaper from almost 40 farmers and graziers opposing Adani’s groundwater plan.

We’re doing this to make sure the Qld and federal Environment Ministers see the huge opposition from Queensland farmers and graziers and understand the dangerous precedent it would set for Queensland farmers trying to protect our water - before they decide whether or not to approve Adani’s plan.

We were aiming to raise the $6500 it costs to get our open letter in the Queensland Country Life. But good news — we raised $9000 — almost enough to aim even higher and get the open letter in the Courier Mail instead. That costs $13,000.

You can chip in here.

The Courier Mail reaches many more Queenslanders, including undecided voters in marginal seats in the outer suburbs of Brisbane.

Politicians seem to care more about these voters’ views than they care about farmers, so we reckon it’s worth trying to raise that final $4000 to get us over the line.

Queensland farmers and graziers are doing it tough right now, on the front lines of extreme weather and climate change. We really appreciate your support.
