Yesterday, Amazon Australia made the decision to pull books by ex-gay author Joseph Nicolosi from its online store. There are so so many books that push LGBTQ+ Conversion ideology, and they are currently legal in Australia, despite the irreparable damage they have caused (and continue to cause) our community. Nathan Despott of the Brave Network yesterday said that books like this were responsible for numerous deaths. 

A collaborative petition was launched yesterday by Equality Australia, The Brave Network and SOCE Survivors, calling on Australia’s booksellers to make the ethical decision to remove Conversion ‘therapy’ books from their stores. 

Today, Angus & Robertson CEO Tony Nash said that Angus & Robertson would be removing all titles pushing this message. A fantastic result!

I applaud Angus & Robertson’s swift and authentic response to the issue after it was brought to their attention. It’s really encouraging!

As I’ve said many times, the ideology underpinning the pseudo-therapies is what causes the damage, and these books are full of it. It’s time for them to be removed.
