This petition isn’t just about honouring Mr Bates’ individual struggle; it is about acknowledging the profound impact he has had on our understanding of fairness, justice, and public service.

A life peerage represents more than just an honour; it offers a platform to amplify his voice and empower him to continue making a difference.

Alan Bates has reportedly indicated in various media [please refer to the references included within this petition] that he didn't plan to lead the campaign against the Post Office, but that it naturally happened over time - and when things needed to be done, he just got on with them.

It is also reported that, despite being retired, he remains dedicated to advocating for the many hundreds impacted by the Post Office scandal.

We can help him in his mission - a seat in the House of Lords would provide him with a place in a forum for debate and challenge, one where he could continue his important work!

Please join the tens of thousands who have already supported this petition - and share as widely as possible. Your comments are much valued, please see examples of the many hundreds already given, below:

Thank you for reading this far, and for your support.
