As you all know, the Portsmouth City Council are renowned for not following the guidelines that they should follow when they are looking to get their way with a building or plot, especially for housing.
In a nutshell, they have transferred the Records Office from the Heritage division to Housing with no justification for doing so. If they asked their constituents if we felt this was a good idea we would rightly so ask why first!! When they informed us that they intended to demolish this and build housing and that transferring it to HRA makes this process far easier we would rightly so say NO, of course not!!!
But they do not ask us as they do not care what we think. They instead proceed with bypassing all processes and rules over a very long period of time so we do not see what they are up to and then they do what they want with our assets.
We have asked them on a number of occasions to clarify what process they followed to justify this transfer as this is clearly not a housing building but the computer always says no.
So today Stephen Morgan MP has written in to the CEO of Portsmouth City Council to ask the question for us. Thank you Stephen. We really hope you will receive a better response to this hugely important question than we have.
This behaviour must be stopped.
This building must be transferred back to Heritage.
And anyone in the Portsmouth City Council that acts this was and was directly behind this transfer should be dealt with formally!!
