We have recently discovered that the Portsmouth City Council are moving on with their decisions for the future of the Records Office.
We are doing everything we can to ensure that the building is saved and reused, we even managed to get a meeting with the Head of housing in July where we have made it very clear that we have a passion to find a suitable tenant and get this building restored.
The one thing we did manage to clarify in this meeting is that we were meeting staff from the Housing side for some reason and on clarifying why, we were told that Portsmouth City Council conveniently transferred the building to Housing back in 2015 this is not good and clearly shows you their overall desire for its fate!
We again made it very clear that we would like to assist in any way to ensure that the building is saved and we are now waiting for PCC to confirm to us that they will formally hear an option to lease/purchase.
If we are able to make them consider this option and we are able to find a suitable tenant who is willing to take on the building, will be looking for support from anyone out there that feels they can help. We will need Surveyors and Consultants, we will need anyone in Construction who can lend us some time to assist us in analysing what needs to be done.
So fingers crossed we will hear something in the next couple of weeks. It is in the hands of the PCC and they clearly do not want this building to remain as is.
EVERYTHING CROSSED
