The Petition of citizens of the City of Port Philip draws to the attention of the relevant authorities that live music is a valuable amenity in St Kilda and we support venues, small bars and restaurants that provide live music and will vote for councillors and state governments who facilitate live music. We prefer fostering arts including live music to the vocal of a minority of few residents who oppose local live music. We are sensitive to genuine noise complaints and feel we represent a 'not so silent' majority. Many decisions legal and otherwise recognise that those that choose to live in an entertainment precinct cannot complain about being entertained to a moderate degree.

We, the Petitioners and therefore request that the council, licensing and other regulatory bodies do not take unnecessary or harassing action against live music and music venues in St Kilda.
