Before the deadline of 11:59 p.m. on August 1st 2021, electronic copies of the petition and comments were sent to the Port of Spain City Corporation. Earlier in the evening, hard copies were delivered prior to the 9:00 p.m. curfew. By the close of time for comments, over 2800 citizens had signed the petition. To date, over 3700 of us have signed. A hearty thanks to everyone who signed and who voiced their opinions and concerns about the proposed transformation of the green space of Nelson Mandela Park into an artificial turf facility.
Shortly after 1.00 p.m. today, August 2nd 2021, the Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, intervened and common sense prevailed. The people have spoken and our leadership has taken heed.
