Unfortunately there are still 2 animal circuses in Australia. Exotic animals such as lions and Monkeys are still force to perform and have 11 months on the road travelling around Australia. These animals are deprived of a natural life in the wild and they don't have a voice to say anything. Science tells us that "the inability of these animals to express normal and natural behaviours in these environments leads to stress, anxiety and extended psychological suffering" Lisa Chalk Animals Australia. This isn't an argument about circus owners caring about their animals, it's about whether they can meet all their needs. Our aim is not to close down these family businesses as they are talented, passionate and inspiring individuals but have a voice for the ones that don't and to stop the animal shows. There's no excuse for animal emotional abuse. Let's give hope for the next generation.
